PT-109 humbuckers are for those looking for more power out of their PAF-style pickups. Overwound to 14K bridge and 9K neck for even, smooth overdrive when used with pedals and distortion. Alnico 2 magnet in the bridge provides a bit of vintage character, creamy highs and loose lows. Alnico 5 in the neck matches the output of the bridge and offers enhanced clarity. A lot of “modern” high-output humbuckers are specifically designed to be sterile-sounding for heavy distortion, the PT-109 gives you a little bit of flavor for Sabbath-style riffage. Of course, this pickup comes with black poles, gloss black or unplated covers or open bobbins in 50mm spacing for Gibson and 50mm neck and 53mm bridge for Fender.
